Bra Fitting Tips for Everyone: Biggies, Bitties, & Mastectomy

Research estimates that 90% of women are walking around in the wrong bra size, “although I think the statistic is higher than that,” says bra fit expert Jené Luciani.

Whether from weight loss or gain, aging, menopause or due to surgical intervention, chances are, our bra size will change over the course of our lives, and she recommends getting fit for bras every year. But how can we make sure we are wearing the right size, or fitting ourselves correctly?

We talk to the expert to uncover some of the biggest “bra-blems” and how we can make sure our girls are being supported. In this episode we’ll cover:

  • The signs that you’re wearing the wrong size
  • Inconsistencies from brand to brand (and how to handle them)
  • Breast shape and how can affect your bra size
  • Inclusivity in the industry: binders and bras for men
  • Mastectomy bras and companies that design specifically for post-surgical bodies
  • Tubular breasts and Jené’s experience with them
  • Sagging breasts and how to prevent them

Selena Polgady is a permanent makeup artist in Nashville and Los Angeles, but for many cancer warriors and survivors, she’s an angel.

Through her “Giving their Glam Back” non-profit organization, she’s teaching women how to draw on eyebrows, add a fake lash and deal with skin issues as a result of chemo treatments. Her goal is to support “thrivers” that cannot afford services that would make them feel better on the inside, just as much on the outside. While this episode talks about cancer survivors, she extends her services to those with other health-related issues or obstacles, such as alopecia, burns, accident-related abnormalities, thyroid problems, self-harm scars, and melanoma. Tighten Loose Skin on Your Stomach with Cutera Secret Pro

It’s a sad fact: diet and exercise cannot do anything to tighten loose skin on your stomach.

Traditionally the only option to remove loose skin was to go under the knife, but new technologies for skin resurfacing and deep dermal remodeling can help restore some of the laxity caused by pregnancy, weight loss, or general aging.

Secret™ PRO takes on a non-conventional approach to skin revitalization by uniquely combining two clinically proven technologies in a single device. Utilizing fractional CO2 for skin resurfacing and radio frequency microneedling for deep dermal remodeling effectively treats the full thickness of the skin from the epidermis to the deeper dermal layers independently or together.

We took the treatment for a test drive at The Kaga Institute and our guest Dr. Kaga is here with everything you need to know about this treatment!
